Independence Day 2: 10 Ways To Make It Not Suck

4. Throw in a Great Twist

CORRECT SIZE ID4 Area 51 Outside of the initial scenes of city destruction in the first film, my favorite moment was the revelation that Area 51 was a real place, with a real alien space craft, that was going to play an integral part in the plot. It was a great twist and a hilarious but fitting surprise. These movies are supposed to be fun more than anything else, and that moment was a great reminder about why we go to big, bombastic summer movies. Independence Day 2 needs to keep that spirit and throw in a crazy surprise or two. I€™m not sure what they should be, and I€™m glad for that fact. I want to be surprised, and I€™m hoping that Devlin and Emmerich have something crazy up their sleeve to match the twist in the first film.
