Indiana Jones 5: 10 Actors Who Could Replace Shia LeBeouf
7. Use Martin Freeman As A Fellow Professor Of Archaeology
A bit of an obvious choice really, considering Freeman's mesmerising performance as John Watson in Sherlock, but between that show and The Hobbit Trilogy, he deserves a place on this list. Take the bumbling charm of Arthur Dent from Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, the silent gravitas and loyalty of John Watson and the heroism of Bilbo Baggins (and Watson) and you've got the makings of a wonderful sidekick to grizzled Indiana Jones. Freeman could be another archaeology professor, taking on the role performed by Denholm Elliott's Dr. Marcus Brody in the original trilogy. A guide and confident who shares Indy's passion for ancient treasures and adventure and has the wisdom and intelligence to back it up. Freeman has demonstrated he can be as much a hero as a sidekick; perhaps that's what Indy needs on his next quest?
