There has been talk that the Indy franchise could well end up being like the James Bond one, in that the character of Indiana Jones is renewable every four or five films or so, giving each generation the chance to experience their own version of the character and to keep refreshing it. Steven Spielberg has admitted in the past that he wouldve liked to direct a Bond movie, and its been said that he and George Lucas see this as their own sort of 007. Its an understandable approach, if they want to bring the franchise back but feel Harrison Ford is too old to reprise his role, and they dont want to simply go down the reboot route. However, the majority of fans would surely feel that Ford is Indy, and that an Indiana Jones film could not work without him. Which brings us to
