9. Harrison Ford Could Return
Could Harrison Ford be set to don the iconic fedora and crack that whip once again? With a confirmed return to the role of Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and also be reprising the role of Deckard in the forthcoming Blade Runner sequel, he has shown a willingness to go back to his past and take on his old roles. And this is one he has played much more recently (even if he, like the audience, would rather forget about it). Rumours immediately sprung up of a Ford return at the time of Disney buying LucasFilm, and when he signed up for Episode VII it was suggested he had done so on the basis of there being a fifth Indiana Jones movie as well. Youd imagine that hed be open to it, and surely the makers would want him back; the only thing really against his appearing is Father Time. Ford is now 72-years-old, and the movie isnt going to be shooting for at least a couple of years. While Ford is capable of kicking far more ass than most men in their 70s, it would still be a challenge for him to fulfil the action requirements of the movie. Back in 2013 the actor said of a potential return: Weve seen the character develop and grow over a period of time, and its perfectly appropriate and okay for him to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesnt necessarily have to kick as much ass. While its hard to imagine an Indy film without Ford, and hed probably be keen on returning, its unlikely that Disney would pin their franchise on his shoulders, meaning he would play an older, mentor-type role to a new, younger adventurer.
