Indiana Jones 5: 10 Rumours You Need To Hear

5. Frank Darabont Might Replace Spielberg

Spielberg€™s involvement, and indeed the film as a whole, is likely to depend very much on getting the script right. Without the right story then there won€™t be any progress for quite some time. One man mooted as a potential writer is Frank Darabont, best known for writing and directing The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, but who also worked on The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones. Back in 2002 he actually wrote a script for an Indiana Jones movie that Spielberg reportedly loved, and was indeed all set to direct until Lucas poured cold water on the project. The prospect of seeing that come back to life is an enticing one, although Darabont may not be keen on going through the process again after the disappointment of the last time.
