Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny: 22 WTF Moments

9. Voller Wants To Kill Hitler

Indy and Helena eventually get the second piece of the Dial, only to be intercepted again by Voller, who takes it from them at gunpoint.

Indy is wounded in the subsequent shootout and kidnapped by Voller, who takes him to the airport and onboard their waiting plane.

Here Voller finally reveals his true plan with the Dial, to fly a plane into one of the time fissures in the sky, allowing him to travel back in time to 1939 and change the course of history.

This causes an alarmed Indy to ask Voller whether he wants to assassinate Churchill or Roosevelt, at which point Voller confesses he actually wants to kill Hitler, believing that doing so will prevent Hitler's "mistakes" causing Germany's loss in World War II.

That's certainly a different motive from what most viewers were surely expecting - and a considerably more interesting one, for sure.
