At the end of the sequence, once the Lance has been dismissed as a fake, German astrophysicist Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen) attempts to take possession of the real priceless item on the train - half of a mysterious artefact known as Archimedes' Dial.

Just as Indy and Basil fend off their attackers on top of the train, Voller arrives and forces Indy to hand over the half of the Dial at gunpoint, which he does.

However, moments later Voller is knocked off the top of the train by a passing roadside perch, sending him flying in spectacularly brutal fashion - seemingly enough to kill most mortal men.

Hilarious it is, then, that when Voller returns to the fold in 1969 a few scenes later, he hasn't got so much as a scar from being hit by a large piece of metal at extremely high velocity.

And as for the Dial? Indy only pretended to give it to Voller - he's still got it.
