Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny: 22 WTF Moments

20. Indy Is A Functioning Alcoholic About To Divorce Marion

We then skip forward to the movie's present day of 1969, where Indy is now a functioning alcoholic rarely seen without a boozy beverage in his hand, while also in the middle of getting a divorce from Marion (Karen Allen) for reasons that are explained later on.

Indy is also now a full-on grumpy old man, heading downstairs to complain about his young neighbours partying into the early hours of the morning - like, 8am early - even if, honestly, can you really blame him in this instance?

Because this apparently isn't a depressing enough post-script to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull's relatively sunny ending for Indy, he's also thrown a surprise retirement party at Hunter College, where his teaching methods clearly aren't doing much to enthrall his young students.

Did bringing Indy back into the fold really require such a sad approach? It's a bit much.
