17. Indy Gets Framed For Murder

One of the more absurd subplots in the movie sees Indy being framed for murder after Voller and his lackeys, some of whom are CIA agents, raid Hunter College and shoot dead both a secretary and one of Indy's fellow professors.

It's a surprisingly brutal scene which quickly establishes the ruthlessness of Voller and his cronies, even if it's a huge stretch to believe that this alone prompts the NPYD to accuse Indy of murdering his colleagues, even with Voller having the CIA on-side.

Basically, it's an oh-so-convenient way to get Indy out of New York and put him on the road far away from home, even if it doesn't really make all that much sense.
