1. It Brings The Franchise To A Satisfying Conclusion

Ultimately fans looking for The Dial of Destiny to bring the series to a fitting end should leave more-or-less happy.

It's not a great movie by any means, but the place it leaves Indy feels right, and it does indeed feel like a relatively concrete farewell for the character.

Though it's incredibly unlikely that Disney simply lets the Indiana Jones franchise end entirely, as a conclusion to the Indiana's arc and Harrison Ford's tenure as the character, it's a successful third ride into the sunset for the legendary hero.

For all of the film's flaws, Mangold at least arrives at an emotionally engaging send-off for Indy just when it matters, and that's what fans will probably remember most about this movie.
