Infinite Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs

2. The Totally Ridiculous Action Sequences

Despite how by-the-numbers Fuqua's direction is throughout, the loony, cartoonish action sequences are at least among the film's trashy highlights, and it sure crams a lot of them into its snappy 106-minute runtime.

From numerous white-knuckle car chases to absurd vertiginous sword fights, and a glorious beat in which Wahlberg's Evan McCauley rides a motorcycle off a cliff onto the wing of a plane, it doesn't leave audiences wanting for OTT action.

The highlight, however, must surely be the Inception-esque, zero-gravity final showdown inside the rotating cabin of a plane.

Though these scenes are more Michael Bay than Christopher Nolan, they help ensure the film flies by quickly enough.
