4. Zemo Gets A Different Introduction - Captain America: Civil War
In Captain America: Civil War, Zemo stole an old HYDRA book full of code words which could be used to control The Winter Soldier from a former agent by hanging him upside down in his basement and drowning him in a sink. It was all pretty dark, but an earlier version of the sequence would have gone down an even more sinister route.
Seated in a black market auction, Zemo does appear to be willing to buy the book but after being outed as an imposter who has infiltrated the secret meeting, he dons a gas mask... and kills everyone.
This would have been a great way to introduce the villain as it would have shown just what he was willing to do to get his hands on that book, but murdering someone in their basement is still pretty evil! Ultimately, it appears as if the Russos wanted to take a slow burn approach to revealing Zemo's motivations here.
