With the one -- and honestly rather inoffensive -- drawback to Enter the Florpus out of the way, let's take a look at the great deal the film has going for it, starting with the absolutely gorgeous animation.

While some old school Zim fans may initially put off by the film's deviation from the original show's rigid, darker style, it soon becomes clear that the tweaks to the visual style were made with the film's best interest at heart.

The more vivid color palette and softer overall aesthetic open the door to some truly beautiful moments. This is particularly evident during Zim's reign of terror in the film's final act, as well as the final battle between he and Dib, which makes use of the movie-level budget and fully embraces the franchise's cosmic nature.

A fair bit of experimentation also took place, namely with the film's incredibly detailed anime-inspired opening sequence. Furthermore, while the aforementioned Florpus falls short as a story element, it provides an excuse to further play with the film's visual style, with numerous other animation techniques being employed.
