Iron Man 3: 10 Reasons Tony Stark Is A Terrible Hero

9. He Invents A New Element... For Himself

Iron Man 8 Or perhaps rediscovering? It€™s unclear how to classify but Tony Stark in Iron Man 2 uses the Stark Expo map, designed by his father to create a new element that cures him of the Palladium poisoning that has ailed him since the film began. Iron Man has saved himself, without any help from his literal supercomputer house butler who not only couldn€™t crack the Raiders-like clue as how to the atom is structured but also claimed that it could not successfully be synthesised. Suck it Jarvis. Jarvis even, slightly begrudgingly (which is impressive for emotionless AI) confirms €œyou have created a new element€. So surely Tony Stark can put this new element to use, or even notify the scientific community they€™ll have to update the Periodic Table shortly. Think of the possibilities, as Stark has just found an element that may be the next step in finding sustainable energy available for everyone. Too bad the only thing it is used for is to get rid of his Palladium poisoning, which was supposedly killing him whilst not hindering his ability to completely waste Whiplash earlier in the film, then to provide his suit with even more power. Science salutes you, Tony.
