7. Stephanie Szostak Is Wasp
It raised a few eyebrows when the up and coming actress Stephanie Szostak was given an abnormally high billing in Iron Man 3, causing many to suspect that she might end up playing Janet van Dyne, who would later become The Wasp, given her fair visual similarity to the character. Marvel instantly put out the flames on this one, suggesting that Iron Man 3 is a more standalone film (which according to reports seems to be totally on the money), but of course, in the interest of a surprise, that's exactly what they would always say. Despite Joss Whedon wanting to have more female characters in The Avengers 2, we're going to have to wait a little longer for one, and specifically The Wasp, because it seems that Szostak is simply playing a woman who Tony Stark meets in a bar, and then turns out to be one of The Mandarin's Extremis-infected soldiers. It doesn't sound like she figures too much in the plot at all, as Tony ends up winning the fight and taking her out pretty easily.
