10. Alternate Castings
Every film has alternate castings, but few are has high profile and in the moment as those for Iron Man 3. Aldrich Killian, the film's big bad and self proclaimed Mandarin, could have gone to Jude Law. But while Law is a big name and could pull off what could be construed as an evil counterpart to Tony Stark, its doubtful he could have brought such carefree suaveness to the role in the way that Guy Pearce did. Whats more interesting, is the initial casting of Jessica Chastain as Maya Hansen, who only dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. Rebecca Hall did a great job with a fleeting role and is a big enough name for her untimely demise to be shocking, but there's no denying seeing a twice Oscar nominee bite the dust would have been even more unexpected. Ultimately, it doesn't make much difference as there is little meat to the role, and theres it was far better seeing Chastain face off against a different bearded terrorist in Zero Dark Thirty.
