Iron Man 3: 5 Things It Got Right & 5 Things It Got Wrong

3. The Post-Credits Scene

ironman3postcredits The post-credits scene in Iron Man 3 is simply Tony Stark sat talking to Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) in a patient/doctor setting. The ending to the actual movie itself left doors open without setting anything in stone for Iron Man/Tony Stark, but I expected more doors to potentially open for universal expansion in the post-credits scene. Don't get me wrong, it was cool to see Bruce sitting 'listening' to Tony Stark recounting his experiences and I don't want to seem ungrateful - it's not as if Marvel have to put anything after the credits, after all. However, by introducing key entities such as Thor's hammer (Mjolnir), the Tesseract and Thanos after the credits in previous MCU outings, they've built up our hopes for something really interesting to occur after the credits in all future instalments. This scene just didn't seem to be enough for me. After waiting for what seemed like forever for the millions of credited names to roll by, I expected more. I know that Phase 1 of the MCU was all about expansion and Phase 2 is focusing more on the movie at hand, but I wanted more from this scene. Even if it was just a hint at the existence of another major character or item - something to keep me guessing. They could even have quite easily given us a sneak peek at one of the upcoming films that we already know is in the pipeline, such as Thor 2 or Guardians of the Galaxy. Sadly, this scene didn't really go anywhere and doesn't really seem to have any real use in the grand scheme of things.
