8. Avengers: Infinity War

Infinity War is a massive accomplishment. From a logistical standpoint, the fact that Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely and the Russo brothers were even able to turn a film with about thirty central characters and this much plot crammed into every nook and cranny into something that's even watchable is nothing short of a miracle. But the end result is a film that does bear the burden of having to juggle all of these characters, meaning that individual characters and performances don't necessarily always get the time or breath they need to really thrive.

It's telling that Iron Man is actually one of the characters who gets the most screen-time in Infinity War, yet he still feels a bit underused. Yes, Downey still gets to deliver some great beats here. His conversation with Strange about Thanos being inside his head for the past six years is pitch-perfect and obviously, his reaction to Spider-Man's dusting is instantly iconic.

But for most of the film, he's basically just left to quip back and forth with new characters, with the creative team saving the lion's share of the character's big emotional beats for Avengers: Endgame.
