Is This How Marvel Plan To Introduce Symbiotes To The MCU?

3. The Road To Knowhere

First things first: the issue itself kicks off right after the Big Bang. In the Marvel Universe, there are beings that have existed since before that momentous event, one of them being Knull, who has only recently been introduced into mainstream Marvel continuity.

Knull is basically the god of the symbiotes, and - thanks to a theory confirmed by Donny Cates - he was actually the being responsible for killing the Celestial that would eventually become Knowhere. The decapitated head has, of course, featured in the MCU before, but the events that led to its chopping have never been detailed until now.

As the issue explains, Knull is the first being to encounter the Celestials as they make their way into the cosmos. The light cast by their presence gives the being a shadow and, reaching into it, he pulls out a symbiote-like sword and fells one of them in a single slash. It's soon revealed that this was the first symbiote, before Knull is repelled by the remaining Celestials with fire and sound - thus developing the symbiotes' first weaknesses, and setting him on a path that would influence the entire Marvel Universe in ways we're only really beginning to understand.

The interesting thing here, however, is that the issue provides a definitive origin for Knowhere, a place of key importance in the MCU. Fans had previously speculated that Marvel could use the Celestials as a means to introduce the X-Gene, but if they were to introduce the symbiotes this way, that would be particularly interesting.
