It: 11 Easter Eggs You Probably Missed

There's a scene in It where the Losers gather beneath a statue of axe-wielding American hero Paul Bunyan. It all seems inconsequential, but it's actually a sneaky hat-tip to a scene from the book which didn't make it into the movie.

There's a sequence where Richie stops to rest up on a bench near the statue after fleeing from a gang of bullies, but his problems multiply tenfold when the statue comes to life, steps off its plinth and chases him down the street.

No doubt Andy Muschietti chose to axe this scare because it would have looked too corny on film. Some things simply work better on the page than the screen, and it's not as though the film is short on terror.
