Bill Skarsgard's all-out horror is a far cry from Tim Curry's macabre Ronald McDonald, but those who didn't take to the new version at least got this homage to the original.

During the scene where Richie suffers the abject torture of being trapped in a room full of sinister clowns, one resembling Curry's take on the shape-shifting entity can be spotted in the corner of the screen.

Fans also got a glimpse at this Easter egg in the It trailer, and judging by the response online, it's helped Andy Muschietti win over some of the naysayers by demonstrating his utmost respect for the source material.
