Ever since the first film dropped speculation has been rife over who will play the grown up leads. For those unfamiliar with Stephen King’s novel, the narrative is split into two halves with the first half focusing on The Losers' Club as kids and the second half catching up with them as adults. Whilst the miniseries, directed by Tommy Lee Wallace in 1990, covered both parts of the story, Muschietti purposely left the grown-up portion of the story for a sequel.

Since the sequel was announce many famous names have circled the project. Notably, Jessica Chastain was linked early on with the role of Beverly (previously played by Sophia Lillis) and has now signed on to portray The Losers' Club's lone female member.

Also recently signed on to the film are James McAvoy and Bill Hader. McAvoy is joined to portray protagonist Bill (played by Jaeden Lieberher in the 2017 film) whilst Hader will take on the role of funnyman Richie (previously played delightfully by Finn Wolfhard).

On top of them, James Ransone is onboard to play adult Eddie and Andy Bean will be playing Stanley. These two roles were previously occupied by Jack Dylan Grazer and Wyatt Oleff. And, of course, Pennywise himself, Bill Skarsgard, is back to creep us all out.

That leaves Mike (Chosen Jacobs previously) and Ben (Jeremy Ray Taylor previously) as the only Losers' Club members yet to be cast. If the casting decisions are anything to go by so far we're confident whoever the studio picks will turn out to be an inspired choice. With so many prominent actors either joined or circling the project, its an exhilarating start for the follow-up and speaks volumes of the quality of the script and the filmmaking talent behind the film.
