5. When It Will Film

Producer Roy Lee has already set a July 2018 start date for the project with it expected to shoot in Toronto. "The script is still being finalized and the locations are currently being scouted in anticipation of shooting then," the producer said in a statement back in April this year.

The original film also shot in Toronto around the same time of year. This seems like a conscious decision by the studio considering the sequel will take place 27 years later in the same location and, presumably, set in the summertime - like the first film.
