In this behind the scenes photo, from a 1946 issue of LIFE Magazine, we can see the wind and snow machines that gave Bedford Falls its snowy atmosphere. The street in Bedford Falls shown here, Genesee Street, was actually Modern Street at the RKO Encino Ranch, a movie lot in which classic films such as the 1931 western Cimarron were also shot.
