1. It Might Be The Most Generic Movie Of 2016

Yes, that's quite a claim given the middle-of-the-road quality of so many of 2016's releases to date, but Never Go Back is so firmly rooted in the tired tropes of the spy thriller genre that it almost feels like they did it on purpose as some sort of self-aware parody.

Sadly that's not the case, though, and it's basically just a bland regurgitation of all the plot beats you've seen in literally dozens of other similar movies. Given Cruise's typically high batting average when it comes to genre movies, it's genuinely bemusing that he agreed to work from a script so utterly formulaic and lazy.

Someone could've easily cranked the screenplay out over a long, booze-soaked weekend with no qualms at all.

Yet with all that in mind, here are 3 reasons you might still want to check the movie out (though probably on Netflix in six months' time)...
