While Drunken Master marked Jackie Chan out as a kung fu fighter well worth keeping your eye on, it was Police Story which first truly demonstrated his ability to craft outstanding stunts which make you gasp for breath in anticipation. It remains to this day one of the greatest action movies of the 1980s, if not of all time. If the opening car chase down the side of a shanty town-covered hill isn't enough to impress you, then the following bus chase - in which Chan clings to the side of the speeding vehicle with nothing but an umbrella - is bound to make your jaw drop. The final shot, in which the bad guys fly through the window onto the ground, is actually a stunt gone horribly wrong - they were supposed to land on the car but fell short.
