James Bond: 10 Biggest Fashion Disasters

1. The Dungarees (Never Say Never Again)

Be careful what you wish for. In 1983, fans were thrilled to get their original Bond back as Sean Connery donned the rug to play 007 once. To make this rival version - a remake of Thunderball - stand out, the producers cleverly took out all the money, decent action sequences and added a script penned by the writer of the 1960s Batman TV show. What could possibly go wrong? The ladies of Never Say Never Again get fitted out in some marvellous eighties fashion, from Fatima Blush's shiny plastic trousers to Kim Bassinger's pop socks and leopard face swimsuit. Alas, Sean is largely dressed like the posh one from Last of the Summer Wine. The nadir for Bond, and his biggest fashion faux pas in 52 years on screen, is when he gets lucky with a fisherwoman and decides to wear a pair of dungarees without a shirt. Yuck. In your thirties, with a mass of thick, lustrous chest hair, this might just work, but in your fifties? Bond resemble a chimpanzee trying to wear human clothes, a continuation in style of Cornelius and Zera in Planet of the Apes. People say never for a reason, Sean. Any major fashion faux pas that have been missed? Let us know down in the comments.
