James Bond: 10 Greatest Opening Title Sequences

3. Skyfall

It would be impossible to leave Skyfall, the latest Bond offering, off this list. Released in 2012, it was able to make use of cutting edge and up to the date visuals to fantastic effect. The underwater feel of the sequence follows on perfectly from the opening and sets up the feel of this movie perfectly. This movie again makes the list off the back of its music. The theme, simply called Skyfall, was performed by British singer Adele and written by Paul Epworth. In the long history of James Bond, the movies have always been overlooked at the Academy Awards ceremonies. Skyfall bucked the trend, however, as it successfully won the award for Best Original Song. Only four Bond themes have ever been nominated for the category and Skyfall finally got the series the acclaim that it deserved. In light of this, it would be impossible to leave this opening sequence by the wayside: Adele's brilliant song more than earns its place here.
