James Bond: 10 Most Hated Characters In The Series
3. Boris - Goldeneye (1995)
Alan Cumming's grinding Russian accent is the least of his worries when it comes to supergeek turned cyber terrorist Boris Grishenko. His catchphrase of 'I am invincible' wears thin after the first few seconds and his uber nerd status continues to rub throughout the film. An arrogant misogynist who enjoyed spending his days flicking through internet pornography, Boris added comic relief to the large roster of villains in Goldeneye.
Where he fits in the film is unclear, you can't really class his as a henchman as Bond could have taken him out in seconds. Cumming includes Boris in his run of dodgy foreign accents (Nightcrawler in X-Men), but plays the role with nerdy grace, fitting perfectly into a part that was almost written for him!
Thankfully Boris manages to 'cool off' towards the end of the film, dying at the hands of one of 007's most unusual gadgets, the grenade pen. His annoying habit of clicking pens was clearly going to be his undoing as soon as Q unveiled Bond's latest weapon. In a final showdown at the Cuban satellite base Boris clicks the pen, arming then disarming it. As Natalia and Bond escape the pen's explosion Boris manages to shout one more "I am invincible" before being covered in a vat of liquid nitrogen...chill out Boris.
