James Bond: 10 Realistic Choices To Be The Next 007

Who’d have thought Cook would be ranked among the favourites to be Batman? The answer? Loads. Fellow actors, agents and all-around media moguls have seen Jack O’Connell’s rise coming for a long time. His meteoritic success within the UK and across the Atlantic is hardly surprising considering just how good an actor the Derby man is. Not only is O’Connell ageing like a fine wine, but he’s also establishing himself as a consistent and reliable leading man on-screen, and Bond is certainly a viable path for his next step.

One can’t help but see Jack’s resemblance to Daniel Craig in terms of size and stature, but he's no carbon copy. Now that the search party have officially set off to locate and label our next 007, it would be a mistake to overlook O’Connell’s name. At 32 years old, he is the ideal age to carry the torch next and offers rough and rugged as well as suave and sophisticated.

Though more often than not, the Skins star occupies the former more than the latter, Craig’s Bond wasn’t afraid to ditch the tuxedo to get his hands dirty and Jack’s iteration would undoubtedly follow suit alongside bringing his own talent to the table. The actor was asked about taking on the role back in 2016 and although seemingly ruled himself out of the running due to his age and accent, he did state he would “absolutely welcome and relish the opportunity…” should it come his way.
