Now-bookies favourite Aaron Taylor-Johnson seems to have been thrust into the 007 spotlight only within recent weeks, which is surprising considering he has laid the groundwork to become an action star for quite some time now. Although Aaron thrives within the dramatic, you can’t deny that he’s found his calling card within action. 2010’s Kick-Ass gave a then-teenage Taylor-Johnson the platform to display his love for action and stunt work, which later led to his stint within the MCU.

Albeit enduring a short-lived existence as Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver, the now 32-year-old has gone from strength to strength in the field. Summer blockbusters such as Tenet and former stuntman-turned-director David Leitch’s Bullet Train have allowed Taylor-Johnson to gain more traction and continue developing his talent. It's apparent Aaron had a knack for selling the rough and tumble beforehand, but the latter really revealed how committed he was by putting his blood, sweat and tears into the role.

Impeccably dapper and exquisitely dressed, his performance as the pristine yet precarious Tangerine will have played a lending hand in Taylor-Johnson's 007 suitability. He's rumoured to have already met with the studio higher-ups in relation to playing Bond, and the Nowhere Boy breakthrough absolutely has what it takes to do the part justice. He’s personable, resourceful and at the peak of his powers. Should his Bond flame fizzle out, he'd make for one hell of a villain opposite him. He really has come a long way since Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, hasn't he?
