James Bond: 5 Awesome Movies and 5 That Sucked

€and 5 That Sucked.

5. The World Is Not Enough (1999)

Pierce Brosnan's Bond films had a knack for just being pretty bland and forgettable, and The World Is Not Enough is no exception. Though the title song by Garbage is a cracker, Robert Carlyle - a fine actor in his own right - is poorly cast and underwhelming as the villain, Renard, meaning that from the outset, the film is low on threat, and therefore thrills. Though one has to admit that Sophie Marceau makes for an alluring femme fatale - a French-Asian quality that is reflected in Skyfall's Severine - Denise Richards was a terrible choice for a Bond girl, accentuated by not only her character's obnoxious brattishness, but her ridiculous name - Dr Christmas Jones (and believing her as a Dr. is in itself quite a feat of disbelief suspension). The worst thing that can be said about it is that it's just not very memorable at all; even far worse Bond films - as you're about to see below - at least lodged in our minds, but this one escaped our consciousness long ago.
