James Bond: 5 Awesome Movies and 5 That Sucked

2. A View to a Kill (1985)

There are two sure things to praise about this film; Christopher Walken's inspired, manically campy performance as the villain, Max Zorin, and Duran Duran's catchy title theme song. Though some cheesy flourishes like having Bond snowboard and shoot a bunch of bad guys to a Beach Boys song proved troubling, the real problem with the film is that at age 57, Roger Moore was no longer convincing as James Bond, and should have handed his license to kill over to someone else years before. The plot is agreeably simplistic - with Zorin trying to reduce Silicon Valley to rubble so that he can become the prime microchip magnate - but unfortunately not very interesting, and Grace Jones' Mayday, while a unique Bond girl, just isn't a particularly appealing one at all. Thankfully, this was Moore's seventh and final effort as Bond, but also his worst by far.
