James Bond: 7 Awesome Villains Clearly Too Good For Their Movie

5. Javier Bardem As Raoul Silva - Skyfall (2012)

M And Silva

The portrayal of Raoul Silva in Skyfall was one of the best I have ever seen. Appearing as a mysterious hacker, you are not sure what to make of him from the get go. What is this guy's plan? Who is he? Then the shoe drops. He want revenge, but not on Bond. On M. The use of this villains back story and his unveiling of MI6 agents undercover around the world brings to light a side of MI6's fight against the bad guys you usually don't see. We have never been inside the Ministry Chamber with M fighting the bureaucracy and red tape. We had never seen how the choices M made played out outside of 007's immediate surroundings. This villain showed MI6 in a new light and opened the franchise to new possibilities. It also came at a high price that I am hoping is worth it when it comes time for the next installment.

"The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time." -Abraham Lincoln This probably is the best way to explain how I try to live my life. I have plans for the future, but try not to lose sight of the now. I enjoy writing for this reason I think. Another of my favorite quotes is: "There are no bad pictures; that's just how your face looks sometimes." -Abraham Lincoln The fact that someone as influential and important is so grounded is really cool to me.
