James Bond: Ranking The Theme Songs From Worst To Best

17. Tomorrow Never Dies - Sheryl Crow

Tomorrow Never DiesDescription: Yet another disappointing alternate in the musical canon of Bond. Originally we were supposed to get k.d. Lang's superior ode to megalomania "Surrender" (which, to be fair, still played over the closing credits). Instead we got this mopey and rather lifeless entry from Sheryl Crow out of all people. Sheryl "All I Want To Do Is Have Some Fun" Crow, trying to sing a mournful love song about the spy who loved her and left her. Try chewing on that without your ears trying to revolt. Choice Lyrics: "Darling you've won, it's no fun. Martinis, girls, and guns / It's murder on our love affair." So say you're in a relationship with James Bond and your name isn't Tracy or Vesper. Congratulations: you're either going to die or be forgotten once the mission's finished and you've gotten your post-victory romancing. Seriously, look the man up: he's James bloody Bond. He goes through women like Justin Timberlake goes through geeky fashion statements. Don't hate the player, hate the game that Ian Fleming laid down for him.
