5. Prince Tristan - Tristan & Isolde
In 2006, Franco played one of the titular roles in the Dark Ages romance Tristan and Isolde. The swan song of the distribution company Franchise Pictures who'd been responsible for previous travesties like Battlefield Earth and the Get Carter remake, Tristan and Isolde tells the story of two young lovers. It's romantic in the way movies where women can be won like prizes are romantic. After winning Isolde's hand for his king, Tristan then cuckolds the man he's willing to die for. And at the end of the film, he does so, with some of the most rigid dialogue in recent film history. Franco's performance is disaffected and uninterested, something even Franco himself has admitted to, even claiming that the film itself was "
