9. Colonel Winter - The Last Castle
Directed by and starring Robert Redford, it is unsurprising that the conflict between the two powerhouse actors made for compelling cinema. Playing Colonel Winter, the commandant of a maximum security military prison who locks horns with inmate Eugene Irwin (Redford) a highly decorated Lieutenant serving a 10 year sentence for violating a presidential order. While the film itself received mixed reviews, with critics claiming that the story simply wasnt strong enough, the on screen chemistry of Redford and Gandolfini is impossible to ignore, and manages to carry the feature to a satisfying, if somewhat underwhelming conclusion.
