Jamie Lee Curtis: Her 10 Best Performances

9. Freaky Friday

Disney's 2003 remake of Freaky Friday is a top contender for the 'most likely to be sealed in a time capsule so future generations know exactly what it was like to be alive in the early 2000s' award. It stars Lindsay Lohan, Chad Michael Murray, and features a sequence revolving around them earnestly singing a ...Baby One More Time cover by Bowling for Soup.

So yeah, most of the film is pretty noticeably dated. And honestly, so is Jamie Lee Curtis' performance here, but she's having so much fun and essentially spoofing an early 2000s teenager in the first place, that it's somehow grown more endearing over time.

The movie's central body-swapping premise gives Curtis the chance to play both an uber-sanitized version of her on-screen persona of the time and an uber-over-the-top version of Lindsay Lohan's on-screen persona of the time. While the first act is fun, once the performance switches gears, Jamie Lee's performance really soars. She's funny and she manages to make moments like the mother-daughter bonding scenes resonate emotionally, no easy feat in a movie this on-the-nose goofy.

The best part of the film is the climax, where Jamie Lee Curtis gets to play a raging guitar solo and once again prove why she's the most badass woman in cinema.
