Jason Bourne: 10 Reasons It's A Huge Disappointment

9. Nicky's Predictable & Uneventful Death

Unfortunately, the trailers really screwed fans on this one, making it abundantly clear that Julia Stiles' heroine Nicky Parsons would bite the bullet early on, straight-up showing the moment in a TV spot while completely reducing her presence in the rest of the marketing.

So yeah, Nicky predictably meets her end in the first act's big Athens-set action sequence, gunned down by Vincent Cassel's asset, and what's supposed to be a huge moment also feels strangely rote, barely being lingered on at all and quickly forgotten during most of the film's remainder.

Given that Nicky has been there from the start, she absolutely deserved better than to be killed off in oddly unfused fashion. Considering that she's basically Bourne's big link to the rest of the world, taking her out shouldn't have been decided upon so lightly.
