Jennifer Aniston: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

2. Eloise Chandler - Love Happens

From its corny title upwards, Love Happens is a head-smackingly dull romantic drama, which revolves around Aniston's Eloise Chandler, who comes out of a relationship and then meets the good-looking Burke (Aaron Eckhart), a motivational speaker who helps people get over the loss of a loved one, while he himself is struggling to deal with his wife's death, for which he feels responsible (he was driving the car).

Though Aniston and Eckhart are unquestionably well-matched, this cliched, derivative drama is far too self-serious for its own good, and though it deals with some dark themes, might have benefited from a slightly lighter touch.

Aniston is totally running on fumes here, though given the small $18 million budget, it's hard to say what attracted her to the role, because it sure as Hell wasn't a big, tasty paycheck. The lack of chemistry between Aniston and Eckhart is surprising, given how well-matched they seem on paper.
