John Malkovich joins Eastwood's THE CHANGELING

Eastwood's latest Oscar hopeful gets underway.

In the Line of Fire here. The Hollywood Reporter say that John Malkovich has joined the Clint Eastwood directed drama The Changeling where he will co-star alongside the already cast Angelina Jolie. The film is the next project for Eastwood and if you believe the pre-strike list from last week then the project actually begun filming yesterday. Here's the plot (based on real life events) which will no doubt see Eastwood in Oscar contention once again...

The story follows a woman (Jolie) whose son goes missing in 1920s Los Angeles. The police return the wrong child and the woman is thrown into an insane asylum for disagreeing with the LAPD. When it seems that her real son has been murdered by a child serial killer and the child returned admits to fraud, she takes her case to the city council and takes down the mayor, the police chief and several corrupt officers, concurrently sparking changes in the insanity legislation.
Malkovich will play a reverand in the film and you can see the rest of the faces of the supporting cast which is now complete by visiting our movie tracker page for The Changeling. I still haven't got round to watching his Flags of our Fathers/Letters from Iwo Jima double bill. I think it's basically because I'm a cheap skate and I never feel like forking out to buy two movies because I know if I purchase one... I will inevitably buy the other too. I like Eastwood's movies and it's great to see that he still has the passion for making films after all these years and this one has come together quite nicely. Hope Malkovich's role isn't just a cameo as it sounds like it could be.
