Joker Solo Movie: 10 Origin Stories It Could Adapt
6. The Man Behind The Red Hood
Since this is an origin movie they're talking about, wouldn't it make sense to take the Joker right back to his roots?
The Clown Prince of Crime made his comic book debut in 1940's Batman #1, but his backstory would only be told 12 years later in Detective Comics #168's The Man Behind The Red Hood storyline.
This version of how the Joker came to be shares a few things in common with later versions of his origin, namely our old friend the chemical bath.
Before diving into the depths in insanity, Mister J was a masked professional crime boss known as the Red Hood, the same identity that the second Robin would eventually take on following his resurrection, but that's a whole other story.
Sticking with the Joker, this incarnation of him suffered the same acidic fate as many of the others after being cornered by Batman and Robin at a chemical plant.
Some elements of the original Joker could make the cut for the solo movie, such as his early Red Hood alter ego, but a straight retelling of this story is unlikely.
