Joseph Gordon-Levitt: 5 Reasons Why He Was Awesome Before 2012

1. He€™s A Dweeb

Hardcore JGL fans will know that his first role was the very memorable part of Student #1 in Beethoven (1992). Fast-forward to 2012 where he may be a ball busting time defying action hero, he may be the one to snog Ellen Page, he may have become the most talked about aspect of Nolan€™s postlude to Batman but he started his career as a loveable dweeb on the hit American sitcom: Third Rock from the Sun. JGL played quirky teenage alien Tony Solomon, son of Dick, with long black hair and orange track suits. Not only was he battling teenage angst like the rest of us, he was doing it as an alien trapped in a hormone soaring human boy body. After Third Rock he continued on with his dweeb status in 10 Things I Hate About You. Most viewers will remember the rugged and unbearably handsome Heath Ledger but Jo Go played the nerdy Cameron James in this Shakespearean tale of love and deception. Again funky shirts, floppy hair and a squinting smile trademarked his part.
