Jumping The Shark 2: 8 More Franchise Derailing Films

2. Highlander II: The Quickening

In the years since its release, Highlander II: The Quickening has developed a reputation as one of the worst films ever made. It achieved the rare feat of scoring 0% on the review aggregator website Rottentomatoes. The cut released in theatres disgusted The Quickening's director, Russell Mulcahy, so much he stormed out of its world premiere after 15 minutes. A common complaint concerns the return of Sean Connery as Ramirez. Despite being decapitated in Highlander, Ramirez is resurrected .... somehow and then spends the majority of the movie on a red eye flight to North America from Scotland bantering with his other passengers in coach. When Ramirez finally joins the fray he is promptly dispatched again. The series returned with Highlander III: The Sorcerer but after the cataclysm that was The Quickening it appears there can be only one decent Highlander movie.
