One of the nice touches to the Jurassic Park series is that the merchandising, that fans were able to buy in the real world fits neatly into the fictional world of the films themselves; things like the lunchboxes and toys on sale in Walmart and Toys R Us are not dissimilar to those found in the gift shop featured in the movie. Jurassic Park 3 features a wonderful - if hard to spot - nod to the spin-off merchandise in a scene where the palaeontologists enter a bar to dine with the Kirbys: in the background as they walk through the room a Jurassic Park pinball machine can be seen, lights blinking away.
