After the group stumbled across an InGen compound and encountered their first Velociraptor, they were caught up in a stampeding herd of dinosaurs, during which Udesky was separated. Lured by the sound of his screams and hiding in the canopy of the jungle, the group saw Udesky on the ground. Quickly, they realised that the raptors had used Udesky to set a trap for them. Though the trap ultimately failed as the raptors were distracted, they made sure to kill Udesky before leaving, highlighting again the series' efforts to solidify the species as the most cunning, intelligent and lethal of threats.
