The Movie: Jurassic Park III Method of Death: You can be forgiven for forgetting the existence of Ben in the 2001 sequel, particularly because his own girlfriend even seemed to. While taking part in an illegal parasailing tour around Isla Sorna with Eric Kirby in the film's opening scene, Ben was forced to unclip their harness after the crew of the boat they were tethered to disappeared. With nowhere else to go, Ben steered them to the island. Soon after Amanda and Paul Kirby's group was left stranded on the island, they came across the parasail hanging in a tree, complete with Ben's corpse and Eric nowhere to be found. Amanda freaked out - in a scene most are likely thankful hasn't found its way to YouTube - and, upon being calmed down by her ex-husband, confirmed that her worry lay not with her deceased boyfriend, but with their son. After that, Ben's death had no bearing on Amanda, who had reconciled with Paul by the end of the film, rendering both the character and any sort of sympathy Amanda could've earned by being affected by his death inert as he was never even mentioned again.
