Jurassic World: 10 Reasons It's The Worst Movie In The Franchise

6. The Main Dinosaur Isn't Compelling

Kept in the dark until very late in the game, no one really knew what to expect regarding the latest Big Bad of Jurassic World. Then the trailers showed off the Indominus Rex for the first time, and it was... underwhelming, to say the least. The Indominus Rex looks like it was made in a rush by committee; as it is supposed to be in the film, yes, but did it have to be so bland? Technically, it should be scarier than the T-Rex, Velociraptor or Spinosaurus, as it's been bred to be such a dangerous foe - but the I-Rex just isn't very interesting to look at, with the design leaving a lot to be desired. The over-use of CGI again doesn't help in this regard - old versions of the T-Rex, Spinosaurus and Raptor were all largely realised through animatronics, so there was a tangible threat there - but neither does the Indominus's lack of discernible character. Raptors are cunning and intelligent, the T-Rex is a roaring, prideful king of the jungle - what is the Indominus Rex, other than something that kills all in its path?
