Jurassic World 2 Trailer - 11 Big Things We Learned
10. The Rumoured Volcano Eruption Is True
It's been rumoured for a while, but finally, we have confirmation that a volcanic eruption on Isla Nublar will play a significant role in the plot of the film.
Every single Jurassic Park sequel has struggled to find a logical, non-convoluted way to bring its human characters back into contact with dinosaurs, and as excuses go, a volcanic eruption threatening to wipe out the species once again is quite convincing.
What doesn't make sense about this is that nobody - ever since the island debuted in the original Jurassic Park - knew that Isla Nublar housed a volcano.
Dormant or not, you don't go building a theme park on a site like this. Shouldn't rigorous environmental checks have been carried out, checks that would have revealed something as dangerous as this?
Not that it matters now - this volcano is about to erupt, which is what brings Owen, Claire, and the rest of their crew dashing to the island in an attempt to stop its dino inhabitants going extinct for a second time.
