Jurassic World: 8 Big Clues Hidden In The TV Spots

6. The Spinosaurus: No Longer A Threat

One former Jurassic franchise star is noticeable by its absence from any Jurassic World promotional materials. Whereas the T-Rex gets a brief cameo in the TV spots - one clip features the Rex being fed (goat, naturally) as park guests watch on from inside a giant log - Jurassic Park III's big bad, the Spinosaurus, doesn't feature at all. Not whilst alive, anyway. The Spinosaurus, or what's left of one, can actually be found in a crowd shot of the new park, the skeleton of the creature lurking in between a couple of Jurassic World stores, lurching forward with jaws wide open. It's the only dino skeleton you see in the TV spots (apparently, Jurassic World's attractions are mostly based around live animals), and presenting the Spinosaurus as dead from the off almost seems to be a nod to fans who were disappointed by the creature and indeed Jurassic Park III itself. The suggestion is that the Spinosaurus, far from any longer being a mysterious new threat, is now just a former attraction.
